We? and them? We are one tribe, all united by the joy and the beauty of the sea and the seasons. We too have observed and we understand. A primal scream as the icy water envelops one is a joy rarely experienced , followed by guffaws of laughter…. it’s a cracking start to the day. I hope our exuberance didn’t spoil the magic for you. We have a photograph of all of us on the beach, we blend seamlessly, our two tribes.

Wow, your tolerance and acceptance of those who whoop and selfie is admirable. To observe a wild thing over seasons, weekly, daily, is a joy they will never understand. We do J x

Dear Jim, I am one of the whoopers. I respect that you are entitled to your opinion, but would like to share my own. To say we do not understand the joy, (in my opinion) is not accurate. We just enjoy it in a different way. I felt the post was a lovely reflection on how people can observe something beautiful but respond in different ways. I felt like your reply was a little judgemental. Surely you have no idea how we (who also swim throughout the year) appreciate the sea. I wish you good health and love. Lisha

Love this. Beautiful images. Pre-dawn heathens. Perfect. Calorie counting starts after 6 am, reminds me of David Frost's maxim that 'White wine is a non-alcoholic drink'. We all know that! hugs x
